Sports Corner Daily’s Results and Yesterday’s Recap

Sluggish start to the week. Down 3 units to kick things off. Not to worry as it’s March Madness week so we are more than confident we will get it back. For those that've been following us for a while you know what I mean. Hitting 65% of our College Hoops picks.

Lets recap our picks from last night, starting in the NHL where the LA Kings fell to the Minnesota Wild 3-1, making our LA moneyline pick on the game a loss. The Kings put up 7 more shots than the Wild did in the game, but were unable to get the puck into the net at the rate Minnesota did. Minnesota forward Ryan Hartman scored a goal and assisted on another. Minnesota improves to 38-25-5 on the season.

In some NBA action the Indiana Pacers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 132-130 in overtime making our Minnesota -7 pick a loss in this one. Indiana got a last second three by forward Obi Toppin to get the win. Toppin put up an impressive 34 points and 10 rebounds in the win, while Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards scored 38 points in the loss. After that, the Sacramento Kings got the win over the Memphis Grizzlies 132-122, killing our Memphis +2.5 selection on the game. The Kings were led by guard Malik Monk who scored 28 points and chipped in 7 assists in the win. Sacramento improves to 34-33 overall on the season and are currently in line for the play-in game for the NBA playoffs. After that, the LA Lakers defeated the San Antonio Spurs 125-109, hitting our Lakers -8.5 pick on the game. LA gets its second win in a row after dropping 4 games straight over the last week and a half. LA improves to 42-25 overall on the season.

Under 139.5

Analysis:

St. Francis and a couple of other low-major longshots secured their tournament spots through a focus on defense rather than a fast-paced offensive style. St. Francis, for instance, pulled off a surprising upset against Central Connecticut in the Northeast Conference final, winning 46-43 in a game defined by its sluggish tempo, marking their first tournament appearance since Jim Baron's 1991 team. Although they triumphed, the Red Flash faced significant offensive struggles, shooting only 31% from the field and an even worse 19% from beyond the arc. This performance highlights their reliance on gritty defense for victory. Similarly, the Hornets have their challenges, managing just a 40% shooting rate from the floor, but they excel defensively, evidenced by their ability to limit Grambling and…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NHL: Seattle Kraken vs. Chicago Blackhawks - 8:30pm ET

Chicago +1.5

Analysis:

Seattle struggles away from home, sitting well below .500 in road games this season, which raises concerns about their performance against a Chicago team that has shown improvement since the acquisition of Spencer Knight. Knight, expected to start Tuesday, has posted an impressive 2.23 goals-against average (GAA) since joining the Blackhawks from Florida, indicating his potential to bolster Chicago’s competitiveness. However, with this being the front end of a back-to-back series, there’s a notable possibility that Seattle may opt for backup goaltender Philipp Grubauer in this matchup. Unfortunately for the Kraken, Grubauer has struggled significantly this season, holding a record of just 7-15-1 and a subpar GAA of 3.61. This situation creates a pivotal moment for both teams; if Seattle starts Grubauer, their defensive vulnerabilities may be exploited by Chicago's newly…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: North Carolina vs. San Diego State - 9:10pm ET

Against the Spread - 👈  Click to get more info on tonights match up

UNC -4.5

Analysis:

In what marks the First Four game in Dayton, North Carolina (UNC) enters the matchup with a chance to prove their worth after many experts had anticipated they would miss the NCAA Tournament entirely. This unexpected opportunity may be just what the Tar Heels need, especially since they have captured eight of their last ten games, suggesting a team beginning to find its rhythm. Their near victory over Duke, hindered by Jae'Lyn Withers’ critical mistake reminiscent of Chris Webber’s infamous blunder, further illustrates their competitive potential. On the other hand, San Diego State (SDSU) has a reputation for being a consistently strong program; however, this iteration under Brian Dutcher doesn’t appear to be one of their strongest squads. The Aztecs lean heavily on their guard play, which could put them at a disadvantage against UNC, who boasts a size edge in the frontcourt. This advantage is particularly pronounced given the uncertain status of Aztecs freshman 7-footer Magoon Gwath, who has missed the last five games due to injury. Although he may attempt to…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. LA Clippers - 10:30pm ET

Against the Spread - 👈  Click to get more info on tonights match up

Cavs -4

Analysis:

The Cavs have demonstrated strong performance on the road, boasting a record of 22-10 against the spread (ATS) and 15-5-1 ATS versus Western Conference teams. Following the frustration of losing their impressive 16-game winning streak to the Magic—where they squandered several leads—they are likely to bring heightened intensity to this game. In contrast, while the Los Angeles Clippers may appear to have improved in recent games, it's important to consider the quality of their opponents; they hold an 8-7 straight-up (SU) record over the last 15 games, indicating a trend of struggle. This raises concerns that they may be slipping into the same patterns that plagued them last season. Additionally, the Clippers are just 5-10 ATS during this stretch, further underscoring their difficulties. Offensively, they are grappling with scoring inconsistencies, which presents a significant challenge against a Cavaliers team known for its effective shot-making. Furthermore, Cleveland is likely to benefit from a healthier Donovan Mitchell in this matchup, as he returns from injury. His presence could be pivotal in boosting the Cavaliers’ offensive production…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
