Let's get into last night's games where Sports Corner Daily went 3-1 in our picks. Starting in the NHL, where the Dallas Stars lost to the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-4, hitting our Columbus +1.5 pick. Columbus scored 2 goals in every period in the win, led by forward Kirill Marchenko who had 2 goals and an assist himself. Columbus has righted the ship after a 4 game skid and has now won 2 games straight. In some more hockey action, the Minnesota Wild lost to the Detroit Red Wings 3-2, making our Minnesota ML pick a miss. Minnesota started the game off hot, scoring 2 unanswered goals in the first period, but couldn't score a goal after that, letting Detroit rattle off three goals in a row to complete the comeback. The Wild fall to 34-20-4 overall and are still hanging on to third place in the western conference.

In our lone NBA selection last night, the Houston Rockets got the win over the Milwaukee Bucks 100-97, hitting our Houston ML selection. Houston continued its great season, with 5 guys scoring in double figures but was led by Jalen Green who had 25 points. Houston improves to 36-22 overall and are sitting as the current 5 seed in the western conference.

In our last selection of the night, App St fell to Georgia Southern 61-59 but hit our under 138.5 pick on the game. Both teams have struggled this season, but Georgia Southern improves to 15-15 on the season overall. They have one final regular season remaining before conference tournaments start.

Looking forward to tonight’s action, we have another 6 picks for you. Be sure to check out The Full Details and What the Public Thinks on these bets before jumping in. Let’s win some money!

Over 145.5

Analysis:

As March approaches, the Southern Conference (SoCon) features an intriguing streak to watch involving the Catamounts, who have ramped up their pace of play, resulting in seven consecutive games hitting the over and a solid 9-1 record over their last ten games. Their defensive struggles have contributed to this trend, with Western Carolina allowing over 90 points in their last two outings against Chattanooga and Samford, highlighting their vulnerability on that end of the court. However, the Catamounts' offense has gained momentum, thanks in part to the exceptional performance of 6-8 sophomore forward Marcus Kell, who is averaging an impressive 22 points per game over the last six contests. In a previous matchup against the Terriers on January 8 in Spartanburg, these two teams combined for a total of 146 points, indicating a strong potential for another high-scoring game, especially given the recent offensive improvements for Western Carolina. Additionally, the Terriers' senior guard Corey Tripp, fresh off a remarkable 31-point performance against ETSU, adds yet…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks - 7:00pm ET

New York -10

Analysis:

The Sixers are currently in disarray, exuding a sense of resignation after enduring eight straight losses, which culminated in a troubling 142-110 defeat to the Bulls on Monday. Joel Embiid’s absence continues to loom large, as his influence seems to negatively affect the team’s morale even when he’s not playing, creating a toxic atmosphere in Philadelphia. Furthermore, Paul George's lackluster performances suggest he may also be feeling disenchanted with the situation. This presents a key opportunity for New York to bounce back after significant losses to the Cavaliers and Celtics. However, the Knicks' chances of capitalizing on the Sixers' struggles are complicated by the uncertainty surrounding Karl-Anthony Towns, who is listed with a sore knee on the injury report. His potential absence could hinder New York’s ability to take full advantage of Philadelphia's woes. Ultimately, the health… [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: Penn State vs. Indiana - 8:30pm ET

Indiana to win

Analysis:

Indiana's performance has noticeably improved since Mike Woodson announced his decision to step down, as the players are motivated to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament for him; a loss in this game would end their chances. The Hoosiers recently delivered one of their best halves of the season in a convincing victory over No. 13 Purdue, showcasing their potential. Key player Malik Reneau has emerged as a significant contributor, averaging 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists over his last four games while shooting an impressive 57.4% from the field. In stark contrast, Penn State is struggling, lacking any NCAA Tournament opportunities and holding just one win on the road in the Big Ten, which raises doubts about their competitiveness in this matchup. Despite a sizable…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: Texas vs. Arkansas - 9:00pm ET

Against the spread - 👈  Click to get more info on tonights match up

Arkansas -3.5

Analysis:

Arkansas will be without its leading scorer, Adou Thiero, who averages 15.6 points per game, leaving the Razorbacks with a limited seven-man rotation for their upcoming game. However, I still believe they can cover the spread against a struggling Texas team. The Razorbacks have shown noticeable improvement lately, having covered the spread in six of their last seven games, which reflects a positive trend in their performance. In contrast, the Longhorns have lost four of their last five games, including a disappointing 84-69 defeat against South Carolina, a team that entered that game winless in SEC play. This raises questions about Texas's mental fortitude and defensive capabilities, especially since South Carolina's home court lacks a hostile environment. In stark contrast, Bud Walton Arena is known for its electric atmosphere, which can be intimidating for visiting teams and provides a significant advantage for the Razorbacks. Given Arkansas's recent form and the challenging…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: Kentucky vs. Oklahoma - 9:00pm ET

Against the spread - 👈  Click to get more info on tonights match up

Kentucky -3

Analysis:

I expect this line to shift from its current spot at -3, so it's wise to place a bet on Kentucky early. I'm feeling optimistic about the Wildcats, particularly because guards Lamont Butler and Jaxon Robinson are listed as probable on Tuesday's injury report after missing recent games; their return would significantly boost Kentucky's chances. Although Oklahoma recently achieved a win against a struggling Mississippi State team, it's crucial not to overreact, as the Sooners are on a five-game losing streak and have a disappointing 4-10 record in the SEC. The potential return of key players like Butler and Robinson could…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NHL: New Jersey Devils vs. Colorado Avalanche - 9:30pm ET

Money Line - 👈  Click to get more info on tonights match up

Colorado to win

Analysis:

The matchup between these two teams appears to be fairly even, with a notable difference in their goaltending situations; the Devils are without their starting goalie, Jacob Markstrom, and are instead relying on the inconsistent Jake Allen, who can either produce a shutout or concede three or more goals, as evident from the Avalanche's 4-0 victory over him in late December. On the other hand, Colorado could see a significant boost with the potential return of winger Valeri Nichushkin from injury, which would enhance their offensive capabilities. Additionally, Avalanche goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood has shown solid performance this month with a 2.24 goals-against average, providing stability in net. This disparity in goaltending consistency and potential offensive reinforcement makes…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
