Sports Corner Daily’s Results and Yesterday’s Recap

Lets recap our college basketball selections from last night, starting with the Charlotte 49ers defeating the Temple Owls 78-72 in overtime, hitting our over selection on the game. Charlotte had 5 players score in double figures but was led by guard Nik Graves who had 23 points. Charlotte has struggled this season but improves to 10-17 overall on the season, and are now 3-11 in conference play. They will need to win their conference tournament to have a chance to play in the tournament.

In our next selection, the Georgetown Hoyas defeated the Providence Friars 93-72, hitting our ML selection on the game. Georgetown started out hot in this one, scoring 48 points in the first half and taking a 17 point lead to halftime. Georgetown improves to 16-10 overall on the season, and has some big opportunities coming up on the schedule to get back on the bubble for the tournament. Georgetown guard Micah Peavy put up an impressive 30 points to fuel Georgetown to the win.

Next up, we saw the Furman Paladins defeat the Samford Bulldogs 80-72, blowing our under 151 selection by one single point. Furman was cruising in the early parts of the game, leading by 21 points early in the second half, but let Samford go on an 11-0 run to close the gap and get it close. At the end of the game, with Samford within striking distance, they started fouling and Furman hit their free throws, hitting 2 last ones with 4 seconds left on the clock. Furman improves to 20-8 on the season.

Next, we saw the Gonzaga Bulldogs defeat the Washington State Cougars 84-63, with the margin over our Washington State +12.5 selection on the game. The end of the first half was terrible for Washington state, where they saw a 4 point deficit turn into a 24 point deficit in about 7 minutes of gametime. Gonzaga closed the half on a 27-9 run and never looked back. Gonzaga was led by guard Nolan Hickman who had 23 points in the win.

In our final selection, the #15 Missouri Tigers put it on the #4 Alabama Crimson Tide, winning the game 110-98, well over our under 170 total pick. Missouri jumped out early, taking a 12-0 lead to start the game and never looked back. Missouri was led by guard Mark Mitchell who had a career high 31 points, but was outdone by Alabama guard Mark Sears who had 35 points. Missouri improves to 20-6 overall on the season.

Boston -7

Analysis:

I see the Boston Celtics as a strong bet on the road in the second half of the season, particularly when they're favored by less than 10 points. Their resilience was on full display during their last matchup against Philadelphia, where they rallied from a 26-point deficit and nearly covered the spread, reminiscent of their -7.5 line against Miami before the All-Star break. A key factor to watch is Joel Embiid's health, which is always a concern and can significantly impact the 76ers' performance. Recently, the Celtics have shown signs of thriving, especially with the Cleveland Cavaliers putting pressure on them, which seems to have sharpened their game. Meanwhile, the 76ers have struggled, failing to cover the spread in their last six games leading up to the break. Jason Tatum has been nearly unstoppable over the past two weeks, further solidifying Boston's offensive strength. The Celtics' depth appears to surpass that of the…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: Campbell University vs. NC A&T St. University - 7:00pm ET

Campbell -4.5

Analysis:

Things are not looking promising for NC A&T, as they are in a troubling slump, having lost 12 of their last 13 games. Their offensive struggles are apparent, averaging only 61 points per game over the past five contests. The team’s three-point shooting has been inconsistent, sitting at a low 30.5%, which significantly hampers their scoring potential. Compounding these issues are the recent suspensions of key players, guards Ryan Forrest and Landon Glasper, who average a combined 37.6 points per game. Their absence has severely undermined the team’s offensive viability. In contrast, the Campbell Fighting Camels have been thriving, boasting a record of 8-1 straight up and 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games. However, they need to remain cautious after narrowly defeating the undermanned Aggies 66-62 just last Monday, a game in which their three-point shooting faltered at 5-for-20. Nonetheless, Campbell rebounded impressively in their last outing, shooting nearly 60% from the field in a… [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: Idaho Vandals vs. North Arizona Lumberjacks - 8:00pm ET

North Arizona to Win

Analysis:

Northern Arizona's upcoming game marks the debut of their alternate identity, the "Astrojacks," which celebrates Flagstaff and the greater Northern Arizona region's rich lunar legacy, notably recognized when Flagstaff became the world’s first International Dark Sky City in 2001. This connection not only honors the area’s commitment to preserving its natural night skies.. As the Jacks strive for a season sweep after their 8-point victory over Idaho on January 25, they come into the game leading the Big Sky Conference in rebounding with an average of 39.1 rebounds per game, showcasing their dominance on the boards. Carson Towt leads the nation with 12.7 rebounds per game and ranks second in double-doubles with 18, highlighting his impactful performance, while Trent McLaughlin contributes significantly to the scoring, ranking sixth nationally at 21.2 points per game. In their previous matchup, Towt excelled, although McLaughlin struggled, making improved performances from him essential for success in this game. Collectively, the combination of a storied identity, impressive individual…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: USC Trojans vs. Maryland Terrapins - 8:30pm ET

Over/Under - 👈  Click to get more info on tonights match up

Over 152.5

Analysis:

The Maryland Terps display a fast-paced offensive style that rivals that of the Trojans, averaging an impressive 83.5 points per game, which ranks them 13th nationally, and they’ve hit the over in nine out of twelve games this season. Under coach Kevin Willard, the Terps have a notable depth in scoring, featuring five players who contribute in double figures, enabling them to maintain their high tempo effectively. Their offensive capabilities are complemented by remarkable shooting percentages—48.8% from the field, ranking 20th nationally, and 37.4% from three-point range. Notably, Ja'Kobi Gillespie, a transfer from Belmont, has emerged as a key contributor, recently scoring 26 points in a decisive 101-75 victory over Iowa, showcasing his ability to ignite the offense. On the other hand, the Trojans benefit from the return of their top scorer, Desmond Claude (formerly of Xavier), who averages…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
