Sports Corner Daily’s Results and Yesterday’s Recap

Lets recap our plays from yesterday, in the NBA the LA Clippers continued their recent great play and beat up the Pelicans 114-98 but failed to cover our -17.5 pick on the game, falling just 2 points short. Kawhi Leonard scored 28 points in the win and the Clippers had 6 guys score in double figures. Not sure any Western playoff team is looking forward to potentially having the Clippers being their opponent in the first round. There is currently a tie in the west from seeds 5-8 with all teams sitting at 44 wins.

In some MLB action, the Detroit Tigers lost to the Seattle Mariners 3-2, killing our Detroit moneyline selection on the game. Detroit had the bases loaded in the top of the 9th with one out and had us thinking they were going to at least tie this game up but unfortunately just couldn't get the break to home plate we needed here.

On the Winnable bets we placed yesterday we had some really tough breaks. The Dodgers won a thriller over the Braves 6-5, thanks to Shohei Ohtani’s walk-off home run, but since they only won by one, our -1.5 spread pick didn’t cash. In the NBA, the Sacramento Kings suffered a surprising 116-111 loss to the Wizards, while the Indiana Pacers won 119-105 but failed to cover the -15.5 spread. In the NHL, the Washington vs. Carolina game turned heated, but with a 5-1 Hurricanes win, the total hit over 5.5, cashing that bet. Alex Ovechkin added another goal in the loss and is now just three goals away from breaking the all-time goals record. However, Vancouver was completely shut out in a 5-0 loss to Seattle, where Andre Burakovsky contributed a goal and an assist, costing us our Canucks moneyline pick. Tough night overall, but at least Ohtani gave us a highlight!

Yankees +1.5

Analysis:

It seems that the much-hyped "torpedo bats" of the Yankees may not be the game-changer they were thought to be, especially with the team on the brink of being swept. Home teams typically gain extra motivation to avoid a sweep, which could play a crucial role in this matchup, even though the Yankees don’t necessarily need a win to make a significant impact. My lack of confidence in Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco is a cause for concern—despite a solid spring performance, relying on him in a critical series might not be the wisest choice. Furthermore, the fact that the Yankees have had to turn to both Will Warren and Carrasco as starters highlights a deeper problem with their…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NBA: Golden State vs. LA Lakers - 10:00pm ET

Over 228.5

Analysis:

The Lakers previously defeated the Warriors in all three meetings up until early February, but they will face off for the first time since the trade deadline, when significant changes took place – Jimmy Butler was traded to the Warriors and Luka Dončić joined the Lakers. Butler’s addition has sharpened the Warriors’ offense, as his ability to drive to the basket creates more scoring opportunities and lessens the defensive pressure on Steph Curry, who recently scored 52 points in a win against Memphis. The Warriors have been on a scoring surge, averaging 141 points per game in their last two matches, including a…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
